Since I came back from Okinawa, in December 2018, I've wanted to create something to materialize my experience. From the many memories I've wished to put on paper, there were two that remind me of what it was like to step there: the beaches and manholes .
Okinawa's beaches are always remembered for the white sand and crystal clear water and have become the colors and textures of art.
The manholes that made me stop just to admire them and imagine what could come out of something so beautiful, inspired me to make the cutouts with the flowers coming out.
In this project I wanted to play with symmetry and doing some studies I came up with a letter that, besides allowing me to use symmetry in all the letters of the word, it also has a simple and fun shape, like the Okinawan people
